The boarded up windows at 900 W. Randolph will be the home of Rick Bayless’s next exciting project. Bayless says, “a completely new concept that you’ve never seen before” is on the way to the area, adding yet another new and exciting restaurant to the already energetic West Loop lineup.
Bayless opened his first restaurant Frontera Grill in 1987, and his second Topolobampo in 1989, both of which are still going strong. For his important work promoting Mexican Cuisine in the United States, Bayless has been named to the Order of the Aztec Eagle, awarded to foreigners by the Mexican Government. Bayless is also a proud recipient of several James Beard awards.
There is still plenty of work to be done at the new restaurant row mystery project. It should be well worth the wait considering Bayless’s tireless efforts to constantly transform how we eat in this great city. The new hot spot will be located across the street from the new Nobu Hotel and Restaurant.
